Ivy Tech hands out awards at commencement

TERRE HAUTE — Nearly 360 students graduated Thursday night in Hulman Center as part of the Ivy Tech Community College Class of 2009. Almost 700 students graduated from the school's Wabash Valley Region.

Terre Haute Mayor Duke Bennett delivered the commencement speech.

The following are the special award winners from the class:

• Leon Blum Award — Jennifer Stewart

• Morley Award — Katie Middleton and Matthew Whittaker

• C. Huston Isaacs Award — Caitlyn R. Helton

• Special Phi Theta Kappa Award — Sharee Switzer and Tyler Brosey
