TERRE HAUTE — Link leaders and staff coordinators from Terre Haute North, Terre Haute South and West Vigo high schools will gather at the Student Recreation Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology for an opportunity to network, exchange ideas and gain valuable leadership skills.
The guest facilitator for the day’s workshop is Phil Boyte, developer of the Link Crew Mentoring Program. Link Crew is a peer mentoring program that partners upperclassmen with incoming freshmen at the local high schools to help the freshmen transition successfully into high school. Boyte will lead the group in building leadership skills and developing a community of caring across Vigo County.
This day-long workshop is made possible through a grant from the Vigo County Education Foundation and the support of Rose-Hulman.
Boyte will also be spending Tuesday at Terre Haute South and March 17 at Terre Haute North Vigo. He will speak to the entire student body at each school as well as conduct small group seminars. These visits are supported by Project GEMS, a smaller Learning Communities grant, from the U.S. Department of Education.
