Marshall, Ill. First United Methodist Church hosting ‘Celebrate Women’ event

Marshall, Ill. —

United Methodist Women of Marshall’s (Ill.) First United Methodist Church are  hosting a “Celebrate Women” event July 26 in the church fellowship hall.

The event will begin with a complimentary salad supper at 5:30 p.m., and continue with a presentation by featured speaker, Rhonda Whitaker of Neoga.

Whitaker has served the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women in many capacities. Recently she has held the position of conference lay leader for the Illinois Great Rivers Conference of the United Methodist Church. She is president elect of the Cunningham Children’s Home, located in East St. Louis. She has also been part of a mission team to Liberia, connecting with Liberian women and helping with mission projects there.

A long-time member of United Methodist Women, Whitaker has been an advocate for the organization and its mission work for more than 30 years. She is well known as an entertaining and informative speaker about women and their contribution to the church and its mission. All area women are invited.
