Sisters of Providence hosting ‘Come and See’ weekend

ST. MARY-OF-THE-WOODS — The Sisters of Providence of St. Mary-of-the-Woods will host a “Come and See” weekend for single, Catholic women between the ages of 18 and 42 on April 5-7.

The weekend will include prayer, reflective sharing, a ministry visit and social time.

The Sisters of Providence of St. Mary-of-the-Woods are a Congregation of Roman Catholic women, founded by Saint Mother Theodore Guerin in 1840. Today, approximately 350 sisters minister in the United States and Asia.

Sister Editha Ben of the Sisters of Providence new membership team said the sisters are excited to share “our passion for the mission, especially in responding to the signs of the times. For example, the Sisters of Providence are committed to taking care of Earth and to promoting peace and justice, especially for women and children.”

The theme for the weekend is “I have come that they might have life…” (John 10:10) and runs from the evening of April 5 to 2 p.m. April 7. The event is free, including lodging and meals. St. Mary-of-the-Woods is located six miles northwest of Terre Haute.

For more information or to register, visit www.sistersofprovidence.org or contact Sister Editha at 812-535-2895 or eben@spsmw.org.
