theme of love
What does love look like?
The Sisters of Providence explore this theme in its 2010 calendar, available now through the gift shop at Providence Center. The 13-month calendar features pictures from Sisters of Providence ministries and includes space to write your prayer intentions each month.

Visit the Sisters of Providence Web site daily from Nov. 5-13 to pray the Novena for Our Lady of Providence.
A novena is a set of prayers said on nine consecutive days. The practice is derived from Scripture in Acts 1:14. The Sisters of Providence are home to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Providence.

Trunk-or-treat at Family Fall Fest
Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church has planned a Family Fall Fest with games, food, apple cider and trunk-or-treating from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.
The event will benefit the 14th and Chestnut Community Center. The church is collecting new socks and under garments — including plane white T-shirts, boxer shorts for boys sizes 6 to adult and low cut socks — for the center.
Donate to the center’s Keep the Fires Burnin’ Fund by voting for your favorite chili at the Chili Cook-off. Donations will help offset the center’s heating costs this winter.
Vehicles will be decorated in Bible themes for the Trunk-or-Treat event. Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Due to the nature of the event, the church is asking that no scary costumes be worn.
