United Campus Ministries will host a welcoming reception Sunday for Dr. Joni D. Clark, newly-appointed campus minister, and Jennifer Bose, new office manager. The community is invited to the noon to 2 p.m. reception in United Campus Ministries Center at 321 North Seventh St. near the Indiana State University campus in Terre Haute.
Clark has a strong and varied scholastic background with a doctorate from Indiana University School of Education’s Department of Leadership and Policy Studies and a master of divinity from the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Ga. Her ecclesiastical experience includes service as the church administrator for Robinson Community African Methodist Episcopal Church Indianapolis and as pastor of Bethel AMEC, Bloomington. Dr. Clark has served the AME Church for more than 20 years as an itinerant elder and has conducted workshops and training seminars for diverse groups of youth and adult learners in both secular and religious settings. She served the educational community at Indiana University as a program development assistant to the vice chancellor, a human resources specialist, and an associate instructor.
Bose brings to UCM more than 10 years of office operations and management experience in charitable organizations throughout the Terre Haute community.
United Campus Ministries serves the communities of Indiana State University, St. Mary-of-the-Woods College and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. As a nondenominational campus ministry it helps individuals understand, grow in, and live out their faith in a Christian community. In addition to regularly scheduled programming and events, United Campus Ministries also provides pastoral care, counseling and ministerial services.

Historic Allen Chapel’s annual barbecue dinner fundraiser is Saturday, April 13, in the Chapel at Third and Crawford streets. African children’s choir to perform at Mount Pleasant
The Watoto Children’s Choir, traveling from Africa, began its five-month eastern U.S. tour in Oak Bluffs, Mass., on Oct. 6 and are continuing the tour through Terre Haute, Lebanon, Indianapolis, Peru, Bloomington, Columbus, Evansville and Vevay, from April 16 to May 1. All performances are free and open to the public.
