Syndicated — Summer is heating up, and so is celebrity real estate. In the past couple of weeks, many luxury homes have been bought, sold and rented by the rich and famous. Here are a few A-listers who have recently made big moves on the housing market:

Big move: Listed her West Hollywood home for sale at $2.95 million or for rent at $15,000 per month

The Hilton family has all the right connections, even when it comes to real estate. In fact, Nicky's father, Rick Hilton, is the chairman of the brokerage selling her home, Hilton & Hyland.

The fashion designer and hotel heiress's 4,072-square-foot home at 1307 Sierra Alta Way, Los Angeles CA 90069 has 3 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms and a large outdoor entertaining area with a pool, waterfall and fireplace.

Big move: Sold her Beverly Hills home for $4.55 million

The fashionista and reality TV star parted ways with the 6,000-square-foot Los Angeles-area property she purchased in August 2007, around the time she settled down with current husband, Djimon Hounsou. The home's recent listing sparked rumors that the ex-Phat Farm exec had split with the "Gladiator" star; however, selling had been on her mind for many years.

The home at 9551 Lime Orchard Rd, Beverly Hills, CA 90210 was first put on the market for $5.695 million in 2010 but was later removed when a buyer was not found. The home was re-listed for $4.65 million in May. After dropping over $1 million, the 6-bedroom, 8-bathroom home sold in about two months.

Big move: Sold his Corona Del Mar, CA condo for $2.214 million

For Woods, 2616 Ocean Blvd, Corona Del Mar, CA 92625 was more than just a home by the sea. According to neighbors, the golfer used the location as both a hideaway for his former mistresses and a retreat for his family.

The 3-bedroom, 3-bath oceanfront property boasts a chef's kitchen and large patio and balcony areas perfect for enjoying the views of Catalina Island.

Big move: Listed her Los Feliz, CA home for rent at $18,000 per month

The British pop singer and songwriter will have a pocket full of cash after renting out her luxury home. Bedingfield purchased the property in 2009 for $2.3 million after tying the knot with Malibu businessman Matt Robinson. The 5-bed, 4,792-square-foot estate boasts views of the Los Angeles skyline, a pool and movie theater.

It's unclear whether she's testing the Los Angeles real estate market or just filling her home while she's away.

Big move: Rented a home in the Hamptons for $400,000 per month

Hip-hop's royal family has literally found their summer castle. For the month of August, Beyonce and Jay-Z reportedly are splurging on a Hamptons home known as "the Sandcastle." Boasting 31,000 square feet and a multitude of amenities, including a bowling alley, rock wall, skateboard half-pipe and basketball and squash courts, the home is one of the largest and most luxurious in the Bridgehampton real estate market.
