TERRE HAUTE — Tournament games and key conference matchups highlight high school basketball action this week.

Little Illini Conference boys teams commence tournament play Friday at Casey-Westfield. Robinson is the No. 1 seed with the host Warriors seeded second.

Marshall is the No. 5 seed and likely will vie for another tournament championship after losing at Flora by one point and losing a close, hard-fought game to Robinson at Marshall last week.

The Maroons are in their first year in the LIC and have not lost a conference game while being ranked in the top 10 in the state. Casey has lost only to Robinson in league games.

LIC girls teams began tournament play last week at Cumberland and will continue tonight. Marshall was an easy winner in its first game, and the once-beaten Lions will be favored to claim the championship.

In Indiana, North Daviess and Linton are tied for first place in the SWIAC standings. The 11-2 Cougars play host to the 10-2 Miners in a Friday headliner.

Eastern Greene is third in the standings and is at Sullivan the same night, while Clay City is 2-1 in league games and entertains Brown County on Saturday. Blake Cesinger had 30 points for the Eels last week against Eastern.
