RONN MOTT: An open letter to Mitt Romney

I see by the pollsters your unfavorable rating is higher than your favorable rating. And, in spite of all the money, staff, volunteers, etc., you don’t seem to know why.

So, Mitt, I’m gonna tell ya. You, as a very rich and ordinary citizen, do not need to tell me about your tax returns. And there lies the rub. You, sir, are asking me and all the rest of us to vote for you in the presidential election of the United States. And yet your wife, on a national television interview, said you would not be telling us about your tax returns.

According to Mrs. Romney, you don’t want that information used against you. Yet you talk about your great successes in your businesses and you’re proud of the money you’ve made.  But you’re obviously not going to bare your soul on your tax returns. You should know, Mitt, that’s pure, country club hogwash. You should be standing in front of the electorate as transparent as you can be. Then, the public can see that you are as good a guy as you say you are. One sure way would be to show us that you’re not just a multi-millionaire hiding your money and slipping through loopholes on your taxes.

On your recent trip abroad, you should have been nicer to one of America’s staunchest ally, Great Britain. Your comments were out of place and got you dubbed by the English press as “Mitt the twit.” My God, Mitt, aren’t you smarter than that?

You have been pushed to the “right” by the bellowing idiots of the “far right.” Now, you will not answer questions asked by the press regarding your time as governor of Massachusetts (where you were considered a rather popular, moderate Republican). And, Mitt, while we’re at it, you don’t like to answer questions about your time at Bain either. You don’t like to answer questions about your past and/or your religion. This isn’t helping you.

One small note … you keep yelling at Obama about jobs, and Mr. Obama walked into the White House and walls fell in on him. He kept much of our industry alive. People can criticize his saving the banking industry, but it also saved our monetary system. And he seems to be working towards better days ahead.

But this is about you, Mitt. And I hate to over simplify it but, Mr. Romney, the real problem is you, because you’re a stuffed shirt. And you just don’t get it.
