Thomas Warren Benefield, 82, of Casa Grande, Ariz., and a native of Terre Haute, passed away on Jan. 14, 2010, at his daughter’s home in Casa Grande, surrounded by his family. Thomas was born Oct. 1, 1927, in Terre Haute, the son of Solon Gordon Benefield and Nettie Marie Cravens Benefield. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran, serving near the end of World War II. He married Betty Lorene Silcock, on Jan. 20, 1950, and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Casa Grande; three daughters, Brenda Dardeen, Sherry Benefield, and Teresa Sankey; one stepdaughter, Lana Mason; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two half brothers; and three half sisters.
Private memorial services will be held in Casa Grande.
