CLINTON — William L. Donzero Sr., 77, of Clinton passed away on Nov. 25, 2009 at his residence. He was born on Nov. 2, 1932, in Vermillion County, to Chester D. Donzero and Violet M. Miller Donzero. He served in the U.S. Army from March 11, 1953 to March 10, 1955. He was a retired self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the Clinton American Legion Post 140, Carpenters Local 133 and Mecca Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Thelma J. Donzero; a son, William L. Donzero Jr.; two daughters; Anita M. Sims and Cindi J. Carlson-Guyton; grandchildren, Justin Sims, Jessica Sims, Seth Carlson, Kelsey Carlson, Taylor Donzero and Renee Donzero; and two great-grandchildren, Jack Steven Saltsgaver and Anna May Saltsgaver.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Frist Funeral Home in Clinton with services at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Tim Guoli. Military rites will be performed by the American Legion Post 140 and V.F.W. 6653. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mecca Christian Church or a charity of your choice.
