Catherine L. Willaman Nagler, 96, of Rossville, formerly of Terre Haute, passed away Nov. 21, 2009, in Mulberry Health and Retirement Community. She was born Nov. 14, 1913, in Toledo, Ohio, to John and Mary (Hirschman) Murphy. She sang professionally for the Toledo Symphony and Opera as a young lady. She worked most of her life in retail sales, and later retired in 1978, working for the state employment services agency in Terre Haute. She married Jarvey Willaman and he preceded her in death. She later married Arthur E. Nagler, who also preceded her in death; as did a daughter, Catherine Brown.
Surviving is her son, John Willaman (Jackie) of Rossville; four grandchildren, Jay and Susan Willaman of Danville, Ill., Jeff and Cindy Willaman of Fairmount, Ill., Jill and Shannon Cloud of Rossville, and Janna and Darrell Petty of Frankfort; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at Archer-Weston Funeral Home, 501 E. Clinton St., in Frankfort, where a rosary and homily will follow at 7 p.m. Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at Highland Lawn Cemetery in Terre Haute. Memorials appreciated to either St. Elizabeth Hospice in Lafayette, or Mulberry Health and Retirement Unit 100 in Mulberry.
