Miriam Lenoir Clouse


Miriam Lenoir Clouse, 89, of Terre Haute, went to meet her Savior, from the home of her caregivers, her granddaughter, Tammy and Ronnie Austin, at 2:10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009. She was born in Terre Haute, on Oct. 10, 1920, to the Rev. William Pratt and Lenoir Thomas Pratt. She was a retired registered nurse from Union Hospital and was a member of Faith Wesleyan Church.

She is survived by three sons, William Clouse and wife Helen, Robert Clouse and wife Jo Ann, and Michael Clouse and wife Lori; one daughter, Patsy Jackson and husband Donald. Also surviving is one sister, Priscilla Roe; as well as grandchildren, Victoria and James Mundell, Tamela and Ronald Austin, Melania Jones, Gloria and John Morris, Regina and Mike Hay, Robert and Holly Clouse, Amy and David Gambill, Melissa Hedden, John Hedden, and Jessica Clouse. Other survivors include 20 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Estel Wayne Clouse, in 1966; one granddaughter, Sherry Clouse; and one twin great-grandson, Gabriel.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, with the Rev. Ray Austin officiating. Burial will be in New Harmony Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, in the funeral home.
