CORY — Sean Lee Barnhart, 32, of Cory, died unexpectedly Nov. 20, 2009, at 7:09 a.m. at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born March 18, 1977, in Vigo County. He was the son of Mark and Judy Plagge Barnhart. He graduated from Northview High School, Class of 1996.
As a young child he attended with his parents and was confirmed in the First United Church of Christ, just outside of Clay City.
He had been working at Lear Manufacturing, now known as IAC, in Greencastle, for the past 13 years. He also was currently enrolled at IVY Tech in the nursing program. Just this past week, Sean and his dad took time to deer hunt together, a sport they both enjoyed.
On June 2, 2001, he married Jacqueline Frees Barnhart. They were married by Pastor Howard Hughes and they became members of the Carbon Baptist Church. Together, they were raising their family in the house he had grown up in. Sean was a loving son, brother, husband and daddy.
Survivors include his wife Jacque Barnhart; their children, Noah Barnhart, age 5, Noelle Barnhart, age 3, and the arrival of baby, Natalee Suzanne Barnhart, is to be in December; his parents, Mark and Judy Barnhart of Brazil; one sister, Robin Stapf (Larry) of DeWitt, Iowa and their children, Katie, Justin and Grace; grandmother, Rose Mary Barnhart of Terre Haute; and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Erica Suzanne Barnhart.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at First United Church of Christ, in Clay City with the Rev. Julie Weston and Pastor Howard Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave., in Brazil, and again one hour prior to services at the church.
A trust fund for Sean’s children has been formed at the First Financial Bank in Brazil. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church.
