DANA — Mildred Smith, 75, of Dana, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was a homemaker. She was born on Aug. 24, 1934, in Liberty, Ky., to the late James Young and Ella Shell Young.
She is survived by her husband, Warren M. Smith, whom she married September 1954, in Chrisman, Ill. Other survivors include three sons, David Smith of Dana, Jim Smith and his wife Brenda of Terre Haute and Steve Smith and his wife Christine of Hillsdale; one daughter, Martha A. Smith of Dana; one sister, Helen Belmont and her husband Wayne of California; one daughter-in-law, Dianna Smith of Terre Haute; eight grandchildren, Justin Smith, Jeff Smith, Joe Smith, Zachary Smith, Jessica Neice, Joshua Norris, Tanner Smith and Tyler Smith; six great-grandchildren, Katlyn Smith, Noah Smith, Gracie Lynn Smith, Kasper Neice, Gage Neice and Ashton Norris.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Max Eugene Smith and Vernon Ray Smith.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at Overpeck-Gooch Funeral Home, 225 Maple Street, in Dana, with the Rev. Charles Jackson officiating. Burial will follow services in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, in Scotland, Ill. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, in the funeral home.
