Shirley Ann (Shores) McNabb, 75, of Terre Haute, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 10, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Jan. 13, 1934, in Terre Haute, to Hallie Shores and Bessie Bretell Shores. She worked for many years at Columbia Records, and retired from the Vigo County Treasurer’s office and building inspectors.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia L. McClain and husband Michael, and Michelle Ramey and husband Randy; two stepsons, Michael McNabb and wife Debbie, and Bradley McNabb and wife Cathy; 10 grandchildren, Shawn McClain and wife Debbie, Melissa Jeffers and husband Scott, Ryan McClain, Lori Ploessl and husband Craig, Troy Ramey and wife Angie, Lee Ann McNabb, Rachel McNabb, Samantha McNabb, Ryan Bennett, and Eric Bennett; and 10 great-grandchildren, Keli Pastorius, Megan and Steven Jeffers, Paige and Daniel McClain, Clayton and Cloe Ploessl, Macy, Marlee and Madisyn Ramey. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Larry McNabb; daughter, Tammy Byers; and brother, Thomas Shores.
Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, 4660 N. Lafayette Ave., with the Rev. Bret Wilson officiating. Interment is in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 10 a.m. until services Friday. The family requests, donations may be made to Hospice of the Wabash Valley.
