LINTON — John Edwin Gould, 86, of Linton, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Linton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Lyons, on April 14, 1923, to Asel Benjamin and Cecil Mae (Stewart) Gould. John served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After service he worked as a construction and factory worker until his retirement in 1985.
Survivors include two sisters, Oletha Mae Perigo of Clarksville, and Patty Ann Watts of Linton; a brother, Dwight M. Gould of Midland; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel, 89 C St. NW, with the Rev. Kenneth Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons, with graveside military rites provided by Linton American Legion Post 22. Visitation is 9 a.m. until services Tuesday.
