Donna J. Isaacs, 79, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, in Southwood Health and Rehabilitation Center. Donna was born on April 11, 1930, in Terre Haute, to Ernest and Ilene Kerns. She was a graduate of Wiley High School. She married William E Isaacs on April 2, 1950, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 2003. She was a homemaker. Donna enjoyed farming, cattle, and spending time with family. She was a member of Extension Club of Vigo County and Farmer’s Chapel Church.
Her survivors include her son, William E. Isaacs Jr. and his wife Mary Ann of Terre Haute; seven grandchildren, Jacob Isaacs and wife Marianne of Crawfordsville, Ryan Isaacs and wife Megan of Terre Haute, Haley Campbell and husband Josh of Noblesville, Cole Isaacs and wife Ashley of Farmersburg, Evan Isaacs and wife Jamie of Terre Haute, Monty Black and wife Wendy of Crawfordsville, and Jeff Black and wife Becky of Rockville; 12 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Ray Kerns of Hymera, Noel Kerns of Terre Haute, Larry Kerns of California, and Don Kerns of Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Albert and Dane Isaacs, both in 1999; and great-granddaughter, Scout in 2009.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at DeBaun Springhill chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, with funeral services beginning at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Tom Norris officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery. Donna asked that those who wish to make memorial contributions, please do so to Light House Mission or Special Olympics of Indiana.
