Carolyn Isles, 79, of Terre Haute, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, in Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born Nov. 9, 1929, in Vermillion County, to Hiram Jerome Griffin and Sarah Ellen Gosnell Griffin. She was a retired owner and operator of B & B Food Distributors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lee Isles, who passed away on Oct. 4, 2000.
Survivors include her children, Scott Isles of Terre Haute, Sally Robinson of Hot Springs, Ark., James Isles and his wife Carol of Terre Haute, and Jerry Isles of Terre Haute; two brothers, Donald Griffin, and Marion Griffin, both of Greencastle; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three nieces; and two nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Marilyn Stephens.
Carolyn was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th St., with Pastor Thomas Manbeck officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, in the funeral home.
