Loretta Grace Watts


CLINTON — Loretta Grace Watts, a Prineville, Ore. resident passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 at Pioneer Memorial Hospital. She was 73 years old.

Loretta was born in Dana, Ind. on July 12, 1936 to Williard and Hazel Marie (Bailey) Mullins. She was raised and educated in Dana and graduated from Dana High School in 1955. She lived in Dana most of her life, only moving to Montezuma and Clinton. She met Robert Edward Watts at the Hilltop Cafe in Hillsdale, Ind. where she worked as a waitress. They were married on Feb. 28, 1959 in Montezuma, Ind. She opened her own beauty salon in 1974.

Loretta moved to Oregon in 2008 living with her daughter and family in Prineville. She loved Oregon and all the mountains, especially enjoying the views. She never tired of looking at the mountains.

She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Indiana.

Loretta loved to spend time with and cherished her family; sisters and children and grandkids.

Loretta is survived by her daughters, Sherry and her husband Troy Authier of Prineville and Darla and her husband Jamey Willming of Chrisman, Ill.; sisters, Naomi Mullins of Clinton, Linda Farnum of Glibertsville, Ky., Zelma Melody of Kissimmee, Fla. and Bertha Thompson of Dickson, Tenn.; and four grandchildren, Chad and Kyle Gossett and Kayla and David Willming.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband (2004) and a granddaughter-in-law, Misty Gossett.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Frist Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Revs. Kenny Bass and Larry Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Thomas Cemetery near Newport. Arrangements are in the care of the Prineville Funeral Home. Frist Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.
