Jeffrey Brent Blackford Sr., 55, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday morning, Aug. 25, 2009 in his home with his family by his side. He was born on Sept. 23, 1953 in Terre Haute to Frank L. Blackford Jr. and Joanne (LaFollette) Johnson.
He worked for PSI as a “Yardman C” for 29 years and was a member of IBEW 1393. He also attended South Vigo Congregational Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife Jeanne (McNabb) Blackford; mother; step-father, Clyde Johnson of Terre Haute; children, Mikki Sinn and husband David of Hamlet, Ind., and Jeffrey Blackford Jr. of Terre Haute; sister, Leslie Sigler and husband Daniel of Terre Haute; brother-in-law, Scott McNabb of New Jersey, Patrick McNabb III of Terre Haute; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Patrick and Mary Ellen McNabb of Terre Haute; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Services are 1 p.m. today in Roselawn Funeral Home with Father Rick Ginther officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Donations in Jeffrey’s name may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital or to the South Vigo Congregational Christian Church.
