Norman Eddie Stone


Norman Eddie Stone, 69, of Terre Haute, passed away Tuesday evening, July 28, 2009, in Union Hospital in Terre Haute. He was born on July 1, 1940, in Greene County, to Victor and Virginia (Ellis) Stone. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked at Midland Glass doing machine repair. Norman loved to travel all over and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.

He is survived by his children, Julie Bennick of Decatur, Ill., Christy Moses and husband Dana of Indianapolis, Dorla Green and husband Larry of Gosport, Diana VanVleet and husband Brad of Decatur and David Stone and wife Lucy of Clarkston, Mich. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Jack Stone and wife Shirley of Terre Haute, Milford Stone and wife Becky of Linton, Sandy Williams of Terre Haute, Mike Stone and wife Teresa of Farmersburg, and Steve Stone and wife Valda of Terre Haute; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Paula.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marilyn; siblings, Ronald and Donald Stone, Carolyn Cowen and Barbara Stone; and one son, Daniel Klutey.

Services are 10 a.m. Friday in Thomas Funeral Home, 2200 N. 13th St. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 972 will be performing graveside military honors. Visitation is today from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
