Leah was better known to all by her nickname, “Sissy,” at the racetracks, the Moose Lodge, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and American Legion, where she went often with her husband.
She loved playing bingo, spoiling her grandkids, watching various television shows, and watching her favorite NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., with her granddaughter Jamie. Sissy was a great woman, daughter, mother, sister, grandma, and friend to all who knew her. She will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, on Sept. 10, 2006; her parents; her half-sisters, Frances Barrow and Mary Percifield; her nieces and nephews, Debbie and Dennis Gray, and Austin Barrow, all of Bloomington.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Peggy Carmichael of Terre Haute, and Danny and Tami Carmichael of Bloomington; her grandchildren, Crystal and Travis Heramb, Kenny Carmichael and girlfriend Samantha of Terre Haute, Jamie Carmichael and boyfriend Daniel Livers, Brandy Carmichael and boyfriend Travis Lane, Bradley Carmichael and fiancée Ashlynn Sterett; her two stepgrandchildren, Daniel and Tiffany Hendershot of Greenwood; great-grandchildren, Timothy David Arthur of Williams, and Keaton Scott Heramb of Terre Haute; her brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Carolyn Gray; her nephews, Patrick Gray, Tommy Gray, David Gray and Donnie Gray and their wives; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
