James Lee Hollers Sr., of Norfolk, Va., and formerly of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at a local hospital in Norfolk. He was born Oct. 24, 1942, in Terre Haute, the son of the late John L. Hollers and Irene Bryant Hollers. He retired after 24 years in the U. S. Navy, where he was a veteran of Vietnam. He also retired after working 20 years with Civil Service.
James is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Buckles Hollers; three sons, James, Ronald, and Gary Hollers, all of Norfolk; a granddaughter, Megan; a grandson, Addison; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dan Hollers of Fairmount, Ind. He also was preceded in death by his sister, Vickie Hollers Clarno.
A memorial service and interment at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery are pending. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, in Norfolk, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Norfolk SPCA.
