Raymond E. Hamilton, 84, of Terre Haute, died at 6:49 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2009, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital’s emergency room. Born in Terre Haute on Dec. 26, 1924, he was the son of Ray and Fay (Moody) Hamilton. He was a retired electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 725, where he had been a member for many, many years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in both World War II and the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Osler) Hamilton, whom he married in 1943; a daughter, Jackie Rae Kuntz and her husband Martin; two sons, David Edward Hamilton and Michael John Hamilton; his grandchildren, Martin Kuntz III, Heather Lowe, and Diana Lynch; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. today. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Clay City, with graveside military rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 972.
