Roy Eugene Robinson, 59, of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Union Hospital. Born May 2, 1950, in Eldorado, Ill., he was the son of Fred Eugene Robinson and Vonda Louise (McGhee) Robinson. Roy worked as guitar manager at the Conservatory of Music for more than 30 years. He had been a member of many bands. He was an inductee into the Wabash Valley Musicians Hall of Fame, and later became a board member also.
Survivors include his companion of more than 30 years, Cathy Sue Grogan, of Terre Haute; a brother, Bert W. Robinson and wife Margaret of Terre Haute; two nieces, Cathy A. Effner and husband Matt of West Terre Haute, and Karen Reynolds of Terre Haute; four great-nieces; two great-nephews; and a good friend, Joy Whitlock of Terre Haute. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Roselawn Funeral Home, 7500 N. Clinton St. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 11 a.m. until services Friday.
