Cleo A. Connelly, 89, of Marshall, passed away at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Ill. She was born Aug. 10,1921, at Effingham, Ill.,, the daughter of Edward Matthews and Edith Tucker Matthews. She married George F. Connelly on June 15,1940, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 1994.
A wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and fabulous mother-in-law, she is survived by a son, Steven Edward (Pam) Connelly of Terre Haute, Ind.; a daughter, Susan Kathleen Connelly of Urbana; a granddaughter, Kathleen Hope Connelly of Rochester, N.Y.; a grandson, Sean Edward Franklin (Katherine) Connelly of Bloomington, Ind.; two great-grandchildren, Ciabhan Connelly and Fionn Connelly; and several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by three sisters; and three brothers.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Marshall.
Private graveside services will be Friday at Marshall Cemetery. There will be no visitation. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Harmony School, 909 E. 2nd St., Bloomington, IN 47401. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pearce Funeral Home of Marshall.
