Betty Jean Jackson, 78, of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born on Dec. 23, 1933, in Terre Haute, to Kale and Lucille (Crews) Walker. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles “Shot” Jackson Sr., on Sept. 9, 1950, and together they raised seven children.
Betty collected bears, elephant statues, and angels. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be truly missed.
Betty is survived by the love of her life and husband of 62 years, Charles; sons, Charley Jackson Jr., Alan Jackson, and Tommy Jackson and wife Bonnie; daughters, Sis (Becky) Jackson, Connie Jackson, and Paula Wilson and husband Tim, all of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Jennifer Long and husband Jason, Jaime Seal and husband Clint, Charley (C.J.) Jackson III and wife Thera, A.J. Jackson, Sarah Manche and husband Daniel, and Timmy Wilson; great-grandchildren, Baylie Cole, Skyler Harbrueger, Dru Long, Reagan, Cole, McKinley, and C.T. Seal; Charley (Jack) Jackson IV; Lexi Kate; James Jackson; Mikayla and Matthew Manche, and Maddox Wilson; brothers, David Walker and wife Linda, and Jackie Walker and wife Kathy; sisters, Shirley Weaver and husband Gene, Sue Rogers, and Diane Hochstether; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronnie Ray Jackson; a brother, Larry Walker; sisters, Barbara Sears and Helen Weaver; and brothers-in-law, Bill Rogers, Bill Sears, and Jim Hochstether.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Roselawn Funeral Home, 7500 N. Clinton St. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home with eulogies given by family and friends. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made at:
