Mary Lou Scamihorn, 84, of Rockford, Ill., formerly of Terre Haute, died at 11:40 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at home. She was born Feb. 1, 1928, in Terre Haute, the daughter of Harry C. and Esther H. (Fowler) Wible. She married Oscar L. Scamihorn on Oct. 19, 1946, in Terre Haute. She was employed by Swedish American Hospital for 17 years, retiring in 1993. She attended Heartland Community Church.
Survivors include her children, Michael (Susan) Scamihorn of Wabash, Ind., Kathy (Bill) Hughes of Washington, Ill., and Steven (Char) Scamihorn of Rockford; grandchildren, Adam (Jamie) Scamihorn, Aaron (Ami Jo) Scamihorn, and Kallie Hughes; brother, Dr. Darrell Wible of Muncie, Ind.; special friend and caregiver, Kay Cobb. She was predeceased by her husband; and great-grandson, Xander Scamihorn.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. CST Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, in Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, Ill., with visitation from 12:30 p.m. to service time Wednesday. Burial is in Sunset Memorial Gardens, in Machesney Park, Ill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Community Care Ministry. For more information visit:
