Kathleen ‘Kitty’ Miser Brooks

BRAZIL — Kathleen “Kitty” Miser Brooks, 87, of Brazil, passed away Nov. 25, 2012, at Methodist Hospital, in Indianapolis, following a brief illness. Kathleen was born March 29, 1925, in Louisville, Ky., the daughter of John and Mary (Coleman) Cash.  Her family moved to Wabash, Ind., around 1940.  There she attended Wabash High School and worked for General Tire and Rubber, Wabash Honeywell Company and Wabash Magnetics.

Kitty was a voracious reader. She also enjoyed playing cards, gardening and watching Pacers basketball, Texas Tech and Indiana University – especially Bobby Knight.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Wayne A. Miser and Charles Frank Brooks; a son, Tony Miser; parents, John and Mary Cash; two brothers, James Cash and J. W. Cash; two sisters, Betty Piasecki and Rosella Bedics.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and John Switzer of Center Point; grandchildren, Matt Switzer and wife Amy of Texas, Wendy Miser Griffith and husband Brad of Peru, Ind., and Susan Renee Morgan and husband John of Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Allison, Eric, and Abigail Switzer, all of Texas, Dirk Ray of Oklahoma, Tasha Ray McCoy (Jake), Brett Griffith and Mercedes Griffith, all of Peru, Nicholas Morgan and David Morgan, both of Indianapolis; great-great-grandchildren, Drewgin Ray and Lexis Ray, both of Peru; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Visitation will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel, Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Friends Cemetery in Wabash, at 2 p.m. on Friday.
