TERRE HAUTE — Walter Lee Graham, 81, of Terre Haute, passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, in his residence. He was born March 31, 1931, in Tecumseh, to Roy and Maude Auterson Graham. He was employed by Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in the housekeeping department, and even coached the bowling team during his tenure at the college.

Walter enjoyed spending time with his family, whether it be hiking in the woods, or just enjoying nature. He never knew a stranger, and through many of his friendships, Walter bought and sold many vehicles. Whether it be a Jaguar or a Corvette, Walter wanted it. He loved bowling, and was a member of the Terre Haute Bowlers Hall of Fame, and the ABC 800 Club, where he won many awards and trophies.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters.

Walter leaves behind his beloved wife, Towanda Graham; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

As were Walter’s wishes, cremation has been scheduled, with a memorial service for friends and family to be held at a later time. The family would like to issue a special thanks to Dr. H. Patel for his service, Walter always had faith in him. They would also like to send a special thanks to the hospice nurses, Beth, Christina, and Dawn, with Hospice of the Wabash Valley, for their caring and compassion in Walter’s time of need. The family would request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Hospice of the Wabash Valley in Walter’s memory. Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., was entrusted with arrangements.
