Mike Needham

Mike Needham, 59, of Terre Haute, passed away at 11:10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013. He was born Sept. 26, 1953, in Chicago, to Raymond Needham and Mary Jane McDaniel Needham.

Mike was raised in Terre Haute, where he attended and graduated from Gerstmeyer High School in 1971. He served in the United States Army from 1975 to 1979. He loved the water and spending time outdoors. Mike spent 20 years working and living in California.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandparents, William McDaniel and Isabella McDaniel, Samuel Needham and Pearl Needham, and Robert Ash Sr. and Mabel Ash. He is survived by two sisters, Linda Cottom and her husband Fred Cottom II and Donna Needham; one nephew, Shane Cottom; and three nieces, Brooke White, Kate Fry and Crystal Taylor. He loved his great-nephews and nieces dearly. He cherished the time he spent watching them play and sharing in their lives, Alexander Beeson, Lillian Fry, Lola Fry, Olivia Cottom, Isabel Cottom, Travis Taylor, and Kyle Taylor.

Mike had many dedicated helpers throughout his extended illness. Our family would like to acknowledge Wabash Valley Home Healthcare and Meadows Home Healthcare. They spent several years taking care of his every need and we could not have done it without their help and support. We would also like to thank Great Lake Hospice for their devotion to Mike and support for our family.

Services for Mike will be private. Greiner Funeral, 2005 North 13th Street, in Terre Haute, was entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at: www.greineruneralhome.com.
