Linda V. Wood Foster, 72, of Terre Haute, died at 1:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, in the Pyramid Point Rehabilitation Center, in Indianapolis, with her family at her side. She was born Sept. 7, 1940, in Terre Haute, to Clarence and Lucile Hammond Wood. She was a graduate of Indiana Business College. She was a former administrative assistant at Indiana State University and retired in 1999 from State Farm Insurance Company. She was a member of Bethlehem Temple Church. She loved gardening, traveling, and yard sales.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda Y. Foster; her parents; one sister, Iris Waldon; and one granddaughter, Khalilah Turner. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Redmon Miles of Indianapolis; one brother, Clarence Herman Wood (Janet) of Terre Haute; two sisters, Mary Dean Cole of Terre Haute, and Sandra Person of Los Angeles; 10 grandchildren, Theresa Ross and Angel Rapier of Terre Haute, Claudia Parker (Don) Chicago, Nadia Rapier, Jordan Morris, Andrew Foster III, Luke, Isaac, and twins Brielle and Brooke Miles of Indianapolis; seven great-grandchildren, Dasia Rapier, Joshua Loftson, Khavion Rapier, Josiah Sibande, Alias, Donae, and Rhonda Rene Parker; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Bethlehelm Temple Church, 1432 S. 13th St., with District Elder J. Glenn Purnell officiating. Visitation will be from 10 am until services. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
