MARSHALL, Ill. —
Bettie J. Cooley, 84, of Marshall, passed away at 8 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind. She was born Dec. 22, 1928, in Dennison, Ill., the daughter of William and Mary Kuykendall. She was married to Donald Cooley, who preceded her in death in 1976.
Surviving are two sons, Jerry (Cathy) Cooley of Springbranch, Texas, and John (Karen) Cooley of Marshall; several stepgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Nettie Harlan; and two nephews, Tom Kuykendall and Art Turner.
Services in honor of her life will be 1:30 p.m. CST Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Pearce Funeral Home, 314 S. 6th St., in Marshall, with Pastor Bill Duke officiating. Burial will be in Dunlap Cemetery, in rural Clark County, Ill. Visitation will be 12 noon until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
