Emma Josephine Bearley, 76, of Terre Haute, passed away at 5:17 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born on Oct. 24, 1936, to John and Thelma (Harrs) Bearley. Emma was a member of Southside Church of Nazarene since 1984. She retired from Thompson’s Restaurant as a cook.

Emma is survived by her nephews, Gordon Bearley, Charles Willis, and David Bearley; niece, Vickie Bearley; brothers, Charles Bearley and John Bearley; and sister, Mary Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donald Bearley, Richard Bearley, Gene Bearley, and James Bearley; and sisters, Alice Willis and Mable Camp.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at 12 noon at Southside Church of Nazarene, 1901 S. 4th Street. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until services at noon. Pastor Kim I. Suits will be officiating. Cremation will take place after services, and burial of cremains will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery at a later date. DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E Springhill Drive, assisted the family with making arrangements. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to American Diabetes Association.
