Larry D. Rogers

CARLISLE — Larry D. Rogers, 59, of Carlisle, passed away at his residence on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012. He was born in Terre Haute, on Feb. 17, 1953, the son of Bob and Norma Meredith Rogers. Larry was a U.S. Navy veteran, and was employed at Lewis Bakery in Vincennes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, J.J. Nicholson; a niece, Jennifer Peak; a son-in-law, Rusty Taylor; an uncle, Clem McCammon; and man’s best friend, his dog, Bonnie.

Survivors include his wife, Cyndi Bell Rogers; one son, Steve Nicholas of Ashland, Ky.; his stepfather, Robert McCammon of Carlisle; four daughters, Shannon Delph (Brian) of Worthington, Chrissy Sanders (Tony) of Jasonville, Leslie Taylor (Rusty) of Carlisle, and Jamie Blount (Dan) of Winslow; three sisters, Vicky Johnson (Bill) of Carlisle, Rita Petty of Terre Haute, and Mary McCammon (Emory) of Carlisle; one brother, John McCammon of Carlisle; nine grandchildren, Harleigh, Holden, Lanie, and Jarrett Nicholson, Dena Jo Taylor, Cannon, Cassie Hood, Braiden, and Brooklyn Blount.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Banks and Brust Funeral Home, in Sullivan, with military rites by the Sullivan, Hymera and Shelburn American Legion posts, and the Sullivan Veterans of Foreign Wars Post. Friends may call from 12 noon until services Thursday. Cremation will follow.
