Kevin L. “KJ” Joyner Sr., 35, of Terre Haute, passed away on, Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at 1:10 p.m. in Union Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 17, 1975, in Terre Haute, to Robert Joyner Jr. and Zeletta “Kay” Grissom Joyner.
He is survived by one daughter, Labrea R. Joyner, and one son, Kevin L. Joyner II, both of Terre Haute; parents, Robert Joyner Jr. (Jacqueline) of Terre Haute and Zeletta Joyner of Terre Haute; grandmother, Martha Joyner and great-grandmother, Margaret Wise, both of Terre Haute; brothers, Michael and Olijuwan Joyner of Terre Haute; stepsister, Bridget Williams of Terre Haute; stepbrothers, Travis Williams, Justin and Brandon Liano, all of Terre Haute; five aunts; three uncles; special mother, Regina Smith; special friend, Melinda Bell; special uncle, Garry Wilford; Sr.; special cousin, Garry “Tiger” Wilford Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Saints Home Church of God in Christ, 2210 N. 13th Street, with Elder Clarence DeBow officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Final arrangements have been entrusted to Stuart Mortuary, Inc.
