TERRE HAUTE — Phillip Michael “Mickey” Lewis, 62, of Pueblo, Colo., passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012. He was born on Jan. 8, 1950, in Terre Haute, Ind., to Helen and Harry W. Lewis.

Survived by his daughter, Camille Koetting of Carlsbad, N.M.; mother, Helen B. Johnson of Terre Haute; son-in-law, Richard Koetting of Pueblo West; brother, S. John (Ruth) Nasser of Terre Haute; stepdaughter, Regina Davis of Gallatin, Ind.; sisters-in-law, Eunice Shaw of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Jacin “Geraldine” Brinkley, Nashville, Tenn.; brother-in-law, Eugene Brinkley of Nashville; grandchildren, PFC Malachi Villegas, Anchorage, Alaska, and Zachary Koetting and Catherine Koetting, both of Pueblo West; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Preceded in death by his wife, Rita Brinkley-Lewis; father, Harry W. Lewis; stepfather, Charles Johnson; and his sister, Edith “Christine” Dunning.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict. He received several ribbons and awards including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star and was permanently disabled. He enjoyed fishing and working on vehicles and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War.

Visitation will be held from 1 until 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, in Montgomery & Steward Chapel, Pueblo. Interment will be in Marion National Cemetery, in Marion, Ind. Online condolences maybe at:
