KNIGHTSVILLE — Spc. Arronn David Fields, 27, of Knightsville, died May 21, 2012, in combat, while serving in Afghanistan with the U.S. Army.
Arronn was born on Nov. 27, 1984, in Clay County, Ind., to Jackie R. Airhart Fields and William L. Fields. He attended Northview High School and graduated in 2003. He was greatly loved by many teachers and had many friends. Arronn attended The Brazil Church of the Nazarene.
Arronn was employed at Pages Grocery in Brazil and then at FedEx in Terre Haute. He joined the Indiana National Guard. He completed a tour of duty in Iraq and then he deployed in January of 2012 to Afghanistan with the 381st Military Police Company, 81st Troop Command as part of task Force Guardian, an operational component of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Arronn received several military operational honors including – the RSP Basic Combat Training & Advanced Individual Training Completion Diploma, Certificate of Appreciation for Outstanding Support of the 108th Military Police Co (Airborne) (Air Assault) during Operation Iraqi Freedom, American Legion Post 118 Certificate of Honor, Combat Lifesaver Course Certificate of Training, Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) training course at Baghdad, Iraq, and the Outstanding Unload Performance certificate.
Arronn is survived by his mother, Jackie Pilkin and father, William R. Pilkin of Knightsville, and father, William L. Fields and his wife Jennifer of Bloomington, Ind.; grandparents, Clarence and Connie Airhart of Brazil and William J. Fields and wife Stella of Solsberry, and grandmother, Phyllis Lambert of Brazil; sister, Cali Cavanary and husband Keith of Indianapolis; brother, Christopher Fields of Jasonville; nieces, Jaszlyne M. Fields, Soliel Cavanary, Alexis Glaspie, and Cassie Fields; nephews, Cory N. Ray and Damon A. Fields; and other extended family.
Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, at Moore Funeral Home, 142 N. Washington St., in Brazil. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at The Church of the Nazarene, 1102 E. National Avenue, Brazil IN 47834. Burial with full military honors will follow at Clearview Cemetery in Brazil.
