Jerry S. Craig

TERRE HAUTE — Jerry S. Craig, age 67, of Greenville, Ill., passed away Nov. 10, 2012, after a long battle with cancer. Jerry was born in Terre Haute, on Aug. 24, 1945, the son of Harold T. and Eleanor P. (Wells) Craig. He graduated from Taylorville High School in 1963.  He followed his father’s footsteps and drove a semi truck for 20 years. In 1988 Jerry and his wife Pam made Greenville, their home and Jerry began a 26-year career with Mercer Transportation of Louisville, Ky., as regional manager.

Jerry leaves behind his wife of 26 years, Pam (Babbitt) Craig; his mother, Ellie of Marshall; his children, Jeannie Spivey and husband Tony of Charleston, Jerry S. Craig II and wife Eve of Springfield, Mo., John D. Craig and wife Beth of Chandler, Ariz., Mike Donaldson and wife Kelly of Chatham, Stephanie Birch and husband Jeff of Naperville. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, Mick Spivey, Lauren, David, Emily, Katie and Molly Craig, Ellie and Joey Craig, Tyler Donaldson, Brooke Goeckner and fiancé Tyler Siddens, Zach Morrison, Connor, Caleb, and Chloe Birch;  a brother, Jack W. Craig and wife Debby of Marshall; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jerry was preceded in death by his father; and granddaughters, Rachel and Caitlin Craig. Jerry was loved by all and will be sorely missed by his family, many friends, and his beloved dog Willie.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at 7 p.m. CST, at The Greenville First Christian Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 p.m. until services at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bond County Hospice or The Greenville First Christian Church. On-line condolences may be made at:
