TERRE HAUTE — Betty Lou Gilbert, 72, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 7:08 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, in Union Hospital. She retired from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College after many years of service. She was born June 12, 1940, in Terre Haute, to Jesse Clarence Beasley and Lula Bell Deal Beasley. She was a member of the Bible Holiness Church in Terre Haute, and she enjoyed reading her Bible.

Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Gilbert and companion Dave Pitts, Gloria Leturgez and husband Lowell, and Vickie Lowe and husband Roy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Linda Gilbert, and Frank and Nancy Gilbert; a sister, Jeannette Beasley; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Janice Beasley, and Leroy and Gloria Beasley; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Elsie Morris, Mary Chambers, Frances Beasley, and Ethel Beasley; and two brothers, Jim Beasley and Buck Beasley.

Betty’s funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. 3rd St., West Terre Haute, with the Rev. Wendell Kirkman officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and prior to services Friday.
