Clara J. ‘June’ Fowler

Marshall, Ill. — Clara J. “June” Fowler, 91, of Marshall, passed away at 6:08 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind. She was born Nov. 24, 1920, the daughter of Carl Kiger and Corrine Schatz Kiger. She married Dean Fowler who preceded her in death in 1977.

Surviving are three sons, Dean N. Fowler of Oakley, Ill., Donald R. Fowler and his wife Roxie of Dennison, Ill., and Jerry D. Fowler of Marshall; one sister, Rita Maddock of Marshall; eight beloved grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, many great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald K. Fowler in 1947, and Bill G. Fowler in 2009; three sisters, Donna Green, Virginia Darnell, and Nancy Kiger; five brothers, Bobby Kiger, Buddy Kiger, Otto Kiger, Billy Kiger, and Carl Kiger; and three daughters-in-law, Betty Fowler, Rose Fowler, and Nancy Fowler.

She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, her church and especially spending time will all of her dear grandchildren.

Services in honor of her life will be 1 p.m. CDT Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Pearce Funeral Home, 314 S. 6th St., in Marshall, with Pastor Steve Donaldson officiating. Burial will be in Darwin Cemetery, rural West Union. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
