Clinton — James D. Lucas, 70, of Clinton, died at 11:24 a.m. Sunday, Sept., 23, 2012, in his residence. He was born Jan. 28, 1942, in Clinton, to James J. Lucas and Lorene “Mickey” John Lucas. He was retired printer pressman from Woodburn Graphics in Terre Haute. He also had worked part time for Geneva Hills Golf Course as a greens-keeper.

He was a member of Jerusalem Lodge 99 Free and Accepted Masons, Vermillion County Low Twelve Club, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 254, Blanford Sportsman’s Club, National Wild Turkey Federation and National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Ruth West Lucas; his mother of New Albany; two daughters, Lynette and Steve Smith of Clinton, and Jean and Dwight Cook of Lafayette; two sons, James W. Lucas and wife Shelly of Fort Sill, Okla., and Thomas and Lori Lucas of Chesapeake, Va.; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Atkinson of Fort Myers, Fla., and Donna Sheeley of Bedford; one brother, Bill Lucas of New Albany; and a special aunt, Lucille John of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his father.

Cremation has been chosen. A celebration of life will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept., 25, 2012, at Blanford Sportsman’s Club. Frist Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
