TERRE HAUTE —

Arthur W. “Sonny” Tallman Jr., 69, went home to be with Jesus at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Terre Haute, on Sept. 7, 1943.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Tallman Sr. and Beutha Tallman Jenkins; and his sisters, Edith Pugh and Sharon Francis.

He is survived by his son, Doyne Tallman and four grandchildren of Griffen, Ga.; a sister and brother-in-law, Catie and Jim Basham and family of Denton, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Annette Jenkins and family of Terre Haute; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Sonny loved and cared deeply for his family and close friends and he had a special place in his heart for his love of animals.

There will be a private burial in Roselawn Memorial Park near his mother, who loved him dearly. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a contribution to Hospice of the Wabash Valley or your favorite charity in Sonny's name. He will be in our hearts forever.
