TERRE HAUTE — Allen Lee “Chad” Chadwick, 78, of Terre Haute, passed away at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Springhill Village Nursing Home, in Terre Haute, after a battle with lung cancer. He was born June 20, 1934, in West Terre Haute, to Stanley Chadwick and Elsie Barnhart Chadwick.

He retired as a truck driver after 35 years of service beginning with Rose Brothers Trucking, Toney Petroleum, and most recently for Kenworth. He also had been employed as a crane operator for Stran Steel in Terre Haute for 14 years.

Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Mary Chadwick; two sons, Gregg Chadwick of Terre Haute and Britt Chadwick of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a sister, Linda Reedy of West Terre Haute; three grandchildren, Holly Chadwick, Shelby Chadwick, and Rachel Chadwick. He was a member of the Wabash Valley Rodders Car Club, and enjoyed restoring and working on his vehicles.

According to his wishes, cremation has been scheduled. A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013, in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., in West Terre Haute, with the Rev. Bob Roush officiating. Visitation will be 2 p.m. until service time Sunday.
