BRAZIL — Robert J. Reedy II, 53, of Brazil, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, following a tractor trailer accident on I-70. Bob was born in Covina, Calif., Jan. 13, 1960, the son of Robert J. and Reta (Herrick) Reedy. He married Cheryl Ross Aug. 26, 1979. While living in California, Bob enjoyed taking his family camping, fishing and swimming.

After high school, Bob worked at Wall Master installing acoustic ceilings and satellites. He moved his family to Indiana in 1994 and began working for Great Dane Trailers. Bob also had worked for Oxford Automotive in Greencastle and the Putnamville Correctional Facility. Most recently, he was working as a truck driver for Dart Express based in Eagan, Minn.

In his free time, Bob enjoyed bowling, watching football, camping and fishing, and spending time with his family – especially his grandkids, Chevy, Chevelle and Brianna.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Reta Reedy. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; three children, Jennifer Butts and husband Chevy, Robert Reedy III, and Krissy Reedy, all of Brazil; grandchildren, Chevelle Butts, Chevy Butts Jr., and Brianna Reedy; three sisters, Rhonda Sang and husband Mahi of Brazil, Becky Lopez of Upland, Calif., and Kathy Valencia and husband Ray of LaPuente, Calif.; a brother, Kenny Reedy and wife Connie of Brazil; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Although the accident that took Bob’s life is tragic, it was his actions that spared the lives of many others. To many, he will be remembered as a hero.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013, at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave., in Brazil, at 7 p.m. with Pastor Ansil Harpold officiating. Friends are welcome to join Bob’s family from 4 p.m. until time of services. Visit www.frenchfuneralhome.com to light a candle in his memory.
