Colonel Francis D. “Pete” Cramer, USAF, Ret. 80, a life-long resident of Terre Haute passed away in Avon, Ind. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012. He was born Jan. 29, 1932, in Indianapolis, to James L. Cramer and Elsie Marie (Webb) Cramer. Pete retired after 40 years with the United States Air force and the Indiana Air National Guard.

He is survived by a son: Jim Cramer and his wife Jackie of Coatesville; two daughters: Christine Noel of Fairland, and Peggy Matacale and her husband Ralph of Evansville; five grandchildren: Daniel Cramer, Emily Cramer, Cara Marco and her husband Steve, Adam Matacale and wife Amanda, and Joseph Matacale, and one great-grandson: Simon Marco.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Catherine Cramer, who died June 20, 2002, and a brother Kenneth Cramer.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 in Callahan-DeBaun Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave. with funeral services at 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that for those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (envelopes will be available at the funeral home) Online condolences may be left at: www.callahanfuneralhome.com
