Patricia “Patt” (Roesch) Spahn, 78, of Bloomington, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. Patt was born Jan. 16, 1934, in Terre Haute, and was the daughter of Herman Christian and Grace Cleo (Hayward) Roesch.
She received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University. Patt was a longtime Realtor in Bloomington having served as president for the Board of Realtors. She attended Sherwood Oaks Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, William E. Spahn of Bloomington; son, Chris Karsner and wife Kum Son and their children, Sonja, Jessica and Jason, all of Southern Pines, N.C.; daughter, Kathy Murphy and her children, Caity and Liam of Bloomington; sister, Barbara Sheldon and husband J.R. of Cincinnati; stepson, Mitch Spahn and wife Sheri and their children, Sam and Jack of London, Ohio; stepdaughter, Bonnie Stremming and husband Doug and their children, Tyler and Tucker of West Chester, Ohio; and one brother-in-law, Bob Spahn and wife Mary of Freeport, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Curtis Anthony Karsner; and a daughter, Barbara Ann Karsner.
Graveside services will be Saturday Feb. 11, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Valhalla Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St., Bloomington.
