TERRE HAUTE — Robert Lee Johnson, 84, of Terre Haute, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, in Wyndmoor Senior Living Center. He was born in Vigo County on Nov. 5, 1927, to Clinton Johnson and Nora Gambill Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Thompson Johnson, whom he married Jan. 24, 1948; his four children, Renee McCarty (Mike), Larry Johnson (Jean), Beverly Long (Edward), and Thomas Johnson (Charlene); nine grandchildren, Dawn McCracken, Nicole Crandell, Laura Glenn, Heather Neal, Stephanie Dunn, Jessica Dotson, Michael Johnson, Amanda Johnson, and Timothy Johnson; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dick Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left at: www.debaunfuneralhomes.com
