  UPDATE 4: Deadly tornado roars through Oklahoma City suburb

  A monstrous tornado at least a half-mile wide roared through the Oklahoma City suburbs Monday, flattening entire neighborhoods and destroying an elementary school with a direct blow as children and teachers huddled against winds up to 200 mph. At least 51 people were killed, and officials said the death toll was expected to rise.

Beverly I. Chopson

TERRE HAUTE — Beverly I. Chopson, 91, of Terre Haute, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 1, 2013, in her residence. Ms. Chopson was a model, a store window dresser, and a secretary for a law firm. She was born in Terre Haute, on Nov. 1, 1921, the daughter of the late William E. Chopson and Irma T. (Kirkham) Chopson.

Beverly is survived by her sister, Barbara N. Chopson of Terre Haute; along with several cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Simple Cremations and Burials, in Clinton. Please join Beverly’s family in sharing memories, photos, and videos of her life through her tribute wall at:
